Innocence Remembered

Hello everyone!
I haven't been posting or commenting as much as would like.
I'm trying to keep up with all your posts.
I have been extremely busy with business, family, and yard work!
There just aren't enough hours in the day!
Today's post was inspired by the always inspirational
Dan did a post titled "Child's Play" sharing his collection of childlike treasures.
I have always been drawn to children's things.
After doing the From the Farmhouse show where there was wonderful primitives offerings to be had my affliction was confirmed.
My big (or should I say small) purchase from all the wonderful primitive offerings was a pair of
little worn leather mittens.
They're just so sweet!
Here are a few pictures of some of my treasures that take you back to
a more Innocent time.

Domestic

Definition:
2. of or involving the home or family
3. enjoying or accustomed to home or family life

Today as I was cleaning and fussing over my house
a phone call I received years ago came to mind.

Phone rings, old friend I haven't spoke to in years on other end.

Found my phone number after much searching.

I was happy to hear from her, she was one of my best friends during our teen years.

After the usual chit chat of catching up and reliving days gone by,
she said to me
" you always were the domestic type".
At the time I felt a bit insulted.

She was independent and well traveled.
Out spreading her wings.

I was a young stay at home Mother with two little ones.

Today, I'm very happy to have been and to be very
DOMESTIC!

Veronica Hileman I hope your still flying high

and this domestic goddess would love to talk to you again one day!

My husband and I spent the past weekend at
The Springfield Antique Show Extravaganza
located at the Clark Co. Fairgrounds
in Springfield, Ohio
Wow, what a weekend!
We left home Thursday morning, feeling a bit hesitant,
wondering if we had made the right decision to do the show.
We would be setting up outdoors and the weather forecast said rain!
To our delight the rain held off and the weather was wonderful!!!!
There were over 2,200 vendors with wonderful antiques.
Great fair food as well. I had the best elephant ear ever. After cooking the elephant ear they brushed it with melted butter then added the sugar and cinnamon....Yummy!
There was also a food vendor selling Bourbon Chicken....so good!
If you are in the area or want to plan a weekend antiquing trip be sure to remember this show.
The next on will be in July.
July 9-11, 2010
I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Here's a few pictures.

Here's our booth.
( that's my hubby on the left)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week,
Linda*

"Thin is in, and fat is ugly." That is what some women believe to be true.
Many of these women starve themselves, do countless hours of vigorous exercising, or even purge after excessive eating.
News Flash!
Men like women with curves. Why do you think so many men love ladies like
Kim Kardashian...it's not for their fashion sense.
You ever notice how mean those super thin ladies look?
Well, that's because they're hungry.
Life's to short to count every calorie and
worry about the number on the label of the clothes I wear.
Skinniest is not prettiest.
So, let's eat!
I know all this typing has made me hungry.

Springfield Ohio Antique Show

Have any of you done or plan to do The Springfield Antique Show and Flea Market that is held at the Clark County Ohio Fairgrounds?

The show runs Friday May 14th through Sunday May 16th and I noticed that have line shopping on Thursday( which would be set up day) and early bird shopping from 7am to noon on Friday before regular shopping hours which are noon - 6pm.

That sounds like a very long day to me.

We are considering doing the show and would appreciate any info.

Pet Peeves

Here's a few....

  1. People who pretend to like you.

  2. Remarks made in effort to gain a reaction.

  3. Indirect insults.

To those who feel the need to do these things. Do you really think you're that clever?

I see through you, refuse to react, and hear the insults.
