Rejected

I thought I would share this photo with everyone.
It is one of two photos from my CS shoot that wasn't used in the magazine.
I love it.
It's one of my favorites.
I wish Country Sampler could get past the
over decorated homes,
large floral arrangements,
fancy table settings,
and see the beauty of simplicity.

  7. I agree. There is usually so much going on in the Country Sampler rooms, it makes me dizzy! Do they do that on purpose for the magazine or are the rooms like that for real? That's a lot of dusting!

    Simplicity is best!!
I have been going through my CS Home Tour issue over and over...and I keep coming back to the pics of your home. I love everything about it. The coziness I think is what gets me hooked.
    Your home inspires me!
Have a great week and enjoy this wonderful weather that we are enjoying this week...It is so refreshing!

  15. They rejected that beautiful pic? I have to wonder about them. It is a lovely, serene picture!

  16. Linda ~~ Happy Saint Patrick's Day !! I too love the photo they rejected....your a lucky girl they didnt try to "charm" up your home, as most of the magazines do. If they love a home why do they want to add and change what the homeowners do on a daily basis ??

There is beauty in simplicity and you have perfected it.
We need to see more of this in magazines.

  22. it truely is a wonderful shot....there were only two homes i enjoyed looking at in the home tours....yours was one of them....i got a phone call this week from one of the folks that shot my home....they were looking for more homes....i told them i had not been to impressed with the homes they have been showing us....too much stuff makes me want to run the other way....i am trying to clean my room out and go with less...your home is one of my favorite!!!!

  23. i love it!!! i can't figure CS out at times either. we need to get back to the simple things in life. isnt that what the "country" in CS is a about?? i sent every summer at my grandparent's farm. there were no big bouquets of flowers or matchy place settings. we had wide open porches, simple white dishes, cloth napkins, and an 'ol tin cup for a ice cold drink from the well.

  24. Exactly!!!!! It drives me crazy to see flowers everywhere in primitive homes and then they get out every dish and glass in the house and pile it all up on the table. Insane. There are 2 people from CS that would never make it in my house if they did that!!!!!

  25. I agree... CS has gone to liberal with what they decorate their rooms with... often its a mixture of prim, bad 80's country, and granny crafts..... its just getting worse too.
